Prairie Restoration

A 15-acre site at the Horticulture Research Station has a remnant oak savanna consisting of a native Burr Oak tree that predates the American Revolution.  This tree will become the feature specimen as the prairie/oak savanna is restored over the next several years.  This savanna can be used as a teaching tool for ISU students and can also provide opportunities for horticulture projects in the future.
